Blake Shelton Talks Tweeting, Pranking and Proposing

Blake Shelton releases his seventh studio CD this week, 'All About Tonight,' the title track of which is his fastest-rising single to date. It's the latest milestone in a year that's included his first ACM and CMT award wins, trips to the top of the singles and album charts, and -- last but not least -- his engagement to fellow country hitmaker Miranda Lambert. The Boot met up with Blake at Nashville's Starstruck Studios for a serious chat about the album (read it here), but hey -- this is Blake Shelton we're talking about. You can't go too long without cracking up. So after our music talk, we played a little 'fill in the blank' game with the notoriously funny star, having him complete our sentences about everything from his upcoming wedding to that little Twitter habit he can't seem to kick.

The last time I got in trouble with my mom was ...
Over the invitation list for this wedding -- people that she wants on there versus people that I don't want on there.

I wish Blake had taken a few moments with the sweet young girl that sang "I wanna' be a cowboy's sweetheart' and yodeled to catch his attention, but when she opted to leave the country genre on a sing off, he did not explain his reasoning to her for staying with country songs. She just wanted to impress him with her versality, - - and he was somewhat curt and abrasive with her. Her entire life and future slipped away in those moments. He has been so blessedwith God's guidence, he needs to slow enough to help those youngsters who are very talented, but novices. Old Geezer Dave in rural NE Ohio :)

Mr Blake Shelton I know it has to be really hard to make ends meet I know it must take alot of money even though your married to a very sucessal wife that is a beauitful woman I would think it is hard being away from each other and the worries about is she o.k.there is so many nuts out there.Iknow my husband and I worrie all sounded so much alike you time about each other My husband is a electrician and has to work out of town a lot of the time.Iam sure its a lot worst for yall. I read somewhere that your mom dad lost your brother and hes in heaven now my son got killed when he was ninteen Him and his best friend because one of thier class mates wanted to play chicken thier class mates left front tire blow out and he hit them head on two of my sons aways played country music togather They sounded so much alike we couldnt tell which one was pickin and which one was singing .It took a long time before my one son would pick or sang .Its been alot of years now and it is such a blessing I close my eyes and I can here them both pickin and singing its not until I open my eyes and realise Ricky was singing from heaven and Donny was jest in the next room .He has wrote alot of songs . he fights with devil so much.and he and I get offaly mad at god sometimes. things can change with the blink of a eye I got to see your wife in consert when she came to Fort polk Louisiana . I love the fact that Blake and Miranda are finally getting the recognition they both deserve. I've listened to them both for years and loved them from back when, and it's great to see them both winning what they deserve! great work and I always look forward to new stuff from both!

Blake you have come along way but at the CMA Awards you really made a bad judgement on your statement about Randy Travis and the boose - Randy may have issues to deal with, but putting him down on National Television was bad. I am really disappointed with you for that.
