Despite a few hiccups along the way, Blake has really made strides in his career since the release of his multi-week No. 1 debut hit, 'Austin,' in 2001, and he realized he needed to put a little more elbow grease into the business side of things to make the journey run more smoothly. "I'm really focusing more on my music and who I am than I ever have before," Blake tells The Boot. "I always thought that would take care of itself, and that I would go down this path of life and music and I'd end up being this artist at the end of the day. And I'm finding it's something that I had to work on harder than that, really beat myself up over who I am and what do I want to stand for and what kind of music I want to do. Just now figuring that out that it was up to me all along."
'All About Tonight' is resonating deeply with his fans, and because of the song, they may start looking to the singer for a bit of medical advice. As he states in the song, he believes in the benefits of red Gatorade as one of the best morning-after-a-night-out remedies. "I've been told through the years that when you get a hangover, one the best things is to fill your body with electrolytes," explains Blake. "I don't know why that is. I'm not a scientist ... but when one of your buddies has like a home remedy-type cure and you see them do it and they believe in it, then to me, it must work. So, if you're feeling like crap the next morning after partying, [drink] red Gatorade."
The song is the title track and lead single from Blake's new Six Pak album, which was released earlier this month. The tune will also be featured in the lanky hunk's first television special, 'Blake Shelton Live: It's All About Tonight,' airing September 8 at 9:00 PM ET on GAC.
