Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum lead the initial list of 2010 CMA Awards nominees. A partial list of nominations was read Tuesday morning during a press conference at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Chris Young and Justin Moore were on hand to read the names in seven CMA categories: New Artist, Vocal Duo, Vocal Group, Musician, Single, Song and Music Video of the Year.

Miranda is the leader of the nominee pack so far with five nods, competing against herself for Single and Video of the Year, as both 'The House That Built Me' and 'White Liar' are nominated in those two categories. Lady A trail with four nominations, three of them for their huge crossover smash, 'Need You Now.' See the full list of nominees in the seven categories announced Tuesday below. The remaining categories -- including Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Female Vocalist, Album and Musical Event of the Year -- will be announced tomorrow (September 1) on ABC's 'Good Morning America.'

The 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards will air live from Nashville on November 10. Brad Paisley (a nominee for his 'Water' video) and Carrie Underwood (a shoo-in for a Female Vocalist nod) will co-host the show for the third year in a row.

Update: Miranda, Lady A and Zac Brown Band lead full list of CMA nominations, announced Wednesday. Click

For some reason these awards shows all seem to be behind the time. I own 2 Luke Bryan cds so he does not seem like a new artist either.

I think Jaron should have gotten a nod for New Artist instead of Zac Brown. They aren't new anymore, even though I really like them.

@ Corey, I totally agree with all you said. I would love to know how the CMA's could have made such a terrible mistake.

I don't begrudge Miranda anything. She's a great artist with great songs that should be nominated but there is a sense of "It's her turn" in this. She's worthy of winning any award in my book but this business of rotating award winners so the "industry" can keep the money spinning dimenishes the honor of winning. Put most of the nominations and voting in the hands of the fans for "Entertainer","Song" and alike. The CMA can spread around the politics with lesser awards.

I agree Reba should have been in the CMA awards. Most of the so called country now days is not country.

@Roy I wouldn't necessarily say it was youth, but more stupidity. Of course, young people and stupidity seem to go so well together these days. I'm only 20 & love Reba & despise Miranda. Consider Me Gone was the biggest hit of her career, so it deserved to be nominated over a newbie.

Could the CMA Awards kiss Miranda Lambert's ass any more...Could they have made room for other great songs and artist this past year. Reba's Consider Me Gone spent FOUR WEEKS at #1, none of Miranda's singles did that. I have lost respect for the CMA's they value YOUTH over anything else.
