Miranda Lambert Leads 2010 CMA Award Nominees

Columbia Nashville

Miranda Lambert is the leader of the 2010 CMA Award nominee pack, with nine nominations going into November's broadcast, including her first-ever nod for the coveted Entertainer of the Year honor. It's the most nominations ever for a female artist in the history of the CMAs.

"It's unbelievable. I'm really shocked at some of my nominations!" a beaming Miranda said on ABC's 'Good Morning America' Wednesday after announcing the nominees alongside Dierks Bentley, himself a three-time nominee this year.

"2010 is definitely my lucky year," Miranda continued. "I've started putting '10' on everything. I got engaged, now the CMAs ... I didn't even think I was eligible for nine awards!"

Miranda is up against fiancé Blake Shelton in three different categories, while Blake also scores his first-ever nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year. Other first-time nominees include Steel Magnolia in the Vocal Duo category and the Band Perry for Vocal Group. CMA first-timers Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young are all nominated for New Artist of the Year, competing against four-time nominees this year, the Zac Brown Band.

Taylor Swift, who led the 2009 CMA winners with four trophies including the night's biggest honor, Entertainer of the Year, walked away with only one nomination this year, for Female Vocalist, which she also won last year. She's up against Miranda, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood. Taylor will pass her Entertainer of the Year honors on to either Miranda, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban or the Zac Brown Band.

The 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards will air live from Nashville on November 10. Brad Paisley (who has three nods) and Carrie Underwood (a two-time nominee) will co-host the show for the third year in a row. See the full list of 2010 CMA Award nominations below.

I surely thought that Carrie would have gotten song of the year with "Temporary Home" and also she should have gotten entertainer of the year. whoever was on the nominating comm. surely has a few loose screws.

And Zac Brown Band was nominated for New Artist last year and lost to Darius Rucker. Just don't think that is fair...Dierks and Miranda for the win!!!

I agree that Carrie Underwood should have been in the Entertainer of the Year catagory. I'm just glad Taylor Swift didn't get many noms. She is not country at all.

Taylor Swift is not only country but one of the most talented women in country music at this time. On her new album, not only did she play and sing, but also wrote EVERY song on the album with no co-writers.

the cmas made a huge mitake this year!! carrie's album and tour were both amazing! how is she not nominated for entertainer of the year? and temporary home touched so many people, it should be up for song and single of the year

It's like the same people every year that get nominated for everything and half of them dont even deserve it

miranda didn't headline very many shows and they were in small venues. also lady a didn't start headlining until the nomination period was up! why would people who haven't toured very much be nominated over someone who had a very successful headlining tour? makes no sense to me.

i can't believe carrie underwood isn't nominated for entertainer of the year!! that's pathetic! she headlined a hugely successful tour and got great reviews for it! her album is almost 2x platinum and she has had 3 #1 singles! yet miranda and lady a are nominated and have hardly even toured!

Attention to all the people griping about the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominees....THEY ALL HAVE HEADLINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe not in big venues, but they ALL HAVE HEADLINED THEIR OWN TOUR!!!!!

Lady A- currently on their first headlining tour
Miranda- Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars (he first headlining tour!!!)
Keith- has headlined
Brad- has headlined
Zac Brown Band- Currently on their own headlining tour

But I agree...these nominations get more and more controversial every year.

Wow wow wow wow. I will not be watching this years CMA and I hope the Taylor and Carrie fans who watch enmasse boycott it as well. The CMA voted for who they like, not who deserves the nominations. The EOTY nods are the ones that really irk me. Ummm...Carrie had a TV special, a great selling headlining tour, and various other appearances, as well as 3 top 5 singles. Taylor had the 3rd best selling tour of all genre's. Both are pushed aside for Lady A, who didn't headline a tour and have one mega hit song, and Zac Brown Band? Miranda I get a little more (although I personally think Reba deserved over her). All in all, major disappointment. I watch every year but will not be tuning in.

Congrats to Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley though. It's about time!
