The 37-track collection includes several of the Georgia native's best-known hits, including his first No.1, 'Here in the Real World,' the Jimmy Buffett duet, 'It's Five o'clock Somewhere' and the Grammy-winning hit, 'Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)'. In addition to the 34 chart-topping tunes, the upcoming project also includes Zac Brown Band's new single,'As She's Walking Away,' featuring guest vocals by Alan, plus 'Look at Me,' a song Alan penned for the 2008 film, 'Billy: The Early Years.' The set also feature's Alan's previously unreleased version of the Johnny Cash classic, 'Ring of Fire.'
The recipient of more than 100 awards throughout his career, the three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year will add one more trophy to his mantel next week, when he accepts the Founders Award from ASCAP, a performing rights organization, at a special invitation-only event on September 14. But while other people may hold him in high regard, he insists he's just a regular guy. "Everybody has the wrong idea about [me]," he tells The Boot. "I mean, I may be different than some acts at my level, but I don't do that much. I don't! I go out and tour some, but I don't stay out on the road like some people do ... I don't stay involved in the music business, other than when I'm recording or being on a television show or something. I'm pretty boring really."
He may not spend as much time on the road as other acts, but the happily married father of three will spend some time away from home this fall, performing his hits across the country. Find his tour dates here.
