Sara Evans, 'A Little Bit Stronger' -- Story Behind the Lyrics

WireImage.com

The Boot sat down with Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott to discuss Sara Evans' latest single, 'A Little Bit Stronger,' which Hillary co-wrote with Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey shortly after a breakup. Sara confesses in the song's video, "It's only been a week since he left, and it feels like it's been forever," holding back tears. For Hillary, this holds to be true.

When I wrote it, I was barely a month out of a really, really bad breakup. It's very autobiographical ... one of the most personal songs that I've ever written. It was personal when I wrote it, but now that it's actually out there, it takes it to another level. I'm sure he [my ex] has heard it, but that's OK because the song's about "everyday without you, I'm a little bit stronger," which is true. So, he can hear that. That's OK.

When I found out 'A Little Bit Stronger' was being recorded, that's been one of the coolest little victories that I've ever felt in being proud of a piece of work that I'm a part of. Seeing it brought to life and having someone like Sara Evans, who we love and respect so much, put her vocal on it ... hopefully it'll do well!
