Check out the photo above (snapped Tuesday, October 19) of John and two of his teammates, Lil John and actor Gary Busey, standing outside Famiglia's Pizza, just across the street from AOL's New York City offices. Our Big Apple colleagues spotted the three celebs selling pizza, with Gary and John also treating the droves of fans gathered on the sidewalk to the Big & Rich hit, 'Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).'
The rest of the cast will reportedly include several famous faces from the music world, including Dionne Warwick, Meatloaf, LaToya Jackson, David Cassidy and Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath, as well as TV talk show host Star Jones, 2010 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworaczyk, supermodel (and former Keith Urban flame and video actress) Niki Taylor, Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin, actress Lisa Rinna, Richard Hatch of 'Survivor' fame, former Major League Baseball player Jose Canseco and reality star NeNe Leakes from 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.'
Filming began in earnest Monday and should continue through the first week of December. The show is expected to premiere in March 2011 and run through May.
Trace Adkins competed in 2008, and he made it all the way to the finale as the runner-up to British newspaper editor Piers Morgan. The singer called it "an exercise in restraint," the likes of which he had never experienced. Clint Black was on the 2009 season, which found him hearing the dreaded words "You're fired!" after coming up with the losing commercial jingle for Chicken of the Sea canned tuna.
He may be currently selling pizzas and strumming his guitar for Trump in the Big Apple, but John will be back home in Nashville Sunday, October 24. He joins pals Montgomery Gentry and Gretchen Wilson for a show at the Woods at Fontanel.
