"As soon as we got back to Canada [after the honeymoon], it was like, 'See ya, husband!'" Carrie told Robin. "It was very strange. I really don't feel like I've lived married life yet. It's great ... whatever this is."
Carrie once again put rumors to rest as to when she would be starting a family with Mike, saying it definitely will not be happening any time in the next year. "I'm going to be devastated when I read my first magazine with [the headline] 'baby bump?' with an arrow pointing [to my stomach]," Carrie laughed. "We just want to be together and keep it as simple as possible. I think that the baby would make things so complicated."
One thing that still remains a priority in her married life is the importance of her family. The superstar's current single, 'Mama's Song,' is a tender ballad about a daughter promising her mother that she has found the right man to take care of her little girl for life. The topic is one that hits close to home for Carrie, who co-wrote the tune with Luke Laird, Kara DioGuardi and Marty Frederiksen. "My family is my whole life. For me and my sisters, [my mom] just wants the best for us," she says. "It's a weird life out here [on the road]. It gets lonely, and you need to have that connection with somebody. I know that she definitely prayed many nights for me to just find somebody who would make me and my life better."
Carrie is currently on the road in the midst of her Play On tour with special guests Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia. Click here for a complete list of upcoming tour dates.
