Lady Antebellum Are Most-Heard Country Artist of the Year

AOL Music

Lady Antebellum find themselves on more than one list in the latest issue of radio trade publication Country Aircheck. The magazine has released its annual year-end 'Most-Heard' artists list with Lady A's Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott taking top honors as the Overall Most-Heard Country Artist of 2010.

The trio were also named the Most-Heard Country Duo or Group, a category in which they placed third last year. In addition, their crossover hit, 'Need You Now,' was country's No. 3 Most-Heard Song of 2010.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley scored the Most-Heard Country Female and Male artists titles, while Easton Corbin was recognized as the year's Most-Heard New Artist.

The publication's No. 1 most heard country song of 2010 is Josh Turner's 'Why Don't We Just Dance.' Rounding out the rest of the Top 5 for the year: Joe Nichols' 'Gimmie That Girl' at No. 2, Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now' at No. 3, Easton Corbin's 'A Little More Country Than That' at No. 4 and Chris Young's 'The Man I Want to Be' at No. 5.

A complete list of the Top 100 Most-Heard country songs as compiled by Country Aircheck may be seen in their latest issue released today (Friday, December 10). Order a copy here.

I love Lady Antebellum. They are receiving much deserved recognition for their talent and hard work. But I have a beef with the article itself. Does anyone proof read these articles? There's a little matter of verb/subject agreement; the correct verb usage for the title should read: "Lady Antebellum IS...", and it should be, "Lady Antebellum FINDS themselves" and "the trio IS...". The group name should be treated as SINGULAR, as should the word "trio". The first clue is another word used in the title. You would not say "the artist ARE...". Likewise, you would not say "the GROUP ARE...". This is basic grammar covered in freshman English, folks.
