Steve Azar and Pat Green are among the celebrity participants scheduled to play in the first four rounds of the 52nd Annual Bob Hope Classic. Defending champion Bill Haas, leading 2010 PGA Tour money winner Matt Kuchar, 2009 British Open champ Stewart Cink and 2007 Bob Hope Classic champ Charley Hoffman have submitted early commitments to be among the professionals playing in the tournament, which runs January 17-23.
Azar may be the man to beat. His six person team, which included PGA tour player DJ Trahan, came in first at at the Hootie & the Blowfish 16th Annual Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. last year. Steve and his team members came in with a score of 18-under-par.
Other celebrity participants include Alice Cooper, actors Kurt Russell, Craig T. Nelson ('Parenthood'), Peter Gallagher ('Mr. Deeds'), Scott Wolf ('Party of Five'), Jerry Ferrara ('Entourage'), Kevin Nealon ('Weeds') and Gary Valentine ('The King of Queens').
