The melody is one reason Kenny feels fans have gravitated towards 'Somewhere With You.' However, he believes part of the song's appeal, as well, is its message of moving on from a previous relationship, but still thinking about that other person, which holds true for many people.
"Melodically, I think this is the most unpredictable melody that I've sang in a long time," says the singer. "And I think just the overall feel and the essence and what the song -- the overall message of the song -- what it says, so many people can relate to that. They have that person in their life that, 'Yeah, I'm with this person now, but I still think about this over here.' This may be a great, committed relationship, or it may just be a date, but still that person is in their head, in their heart, and they're thinking about it."
Kenny will likely perform his new No. 1 hit when he launches his Goin' Coastal tour in West Palm Beach, Fla., on March 17. But first, the superstar will be seen on ESPN once again with a new football documentary, this time on former University of Tennessee quarterback Condredge Holloway. The one-hour special, 'The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story,' will air February 20 at 8:00 PM ET. Kenny's previous effort, 'The Boys of Fall, also premiered on ESPN and is now available on DVD.
