Jimmy Buffett is 'Doing Well' After Fall

Jimmy Buffett is "doing well," according to his website, following Wednesday's (January 26) tumble off a stage in Sydney, Australia. He has been released from the hospital and is recuperating.

The 64-year-old music icon, whose performance was part of the Australia Day celebration, was unconscious for about eight minutes after falling head first off the stage after his encore.

"It looked like he did a massive face plant after his encore and pretty much didn't get up," audience member Dan Bateman told Australia's Daily Telegraph newspaper. "We were told to leave the premises ... No one really wanted to leave because everyone was anxious to know if he survived the fall. Everyone was pretty horrified."

Paramedics transported Jimmy to Sydney's St. Vincent's Hospital, where he stayed until today's (January 27) release.

While this was Jimmy's first tour Down Under in 20 years, the good-humored singer will undoubtedly be back cheering to 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!' soon. Wednesday night's show was the last of a three-part run at the Sydney Opera House.

Unfortunately, this Saturday's (January 29) tour stop in Auckland, New Zealand has been canceled. Jimmy's next scheduled concert is April 16 in Tampa, Fla. See his tour schedule here.
