Miranda Lambert Wins Best Female Vocal Country Performance Grammy

Matt Sayles, AP

Miranda Lambert is the Grammy winner for Best Female Vocal Country Performance!

"First Grammy perfomance ever and first Grammy ever ... Thank you Tom [Douglas] and Allen [Shamblin] for writing such a beautiful song, and thank you so much for loving the lyrics of this song because it means the world to me," said a beaming Miranda from stage. "I love country music."

Miranda was -- pardon the cliche -- honored just to be nominated. "It feels good," Miranda said of her recognition after the nominees were announced a few months ago. "It's such a prestigious awards show. It's mattered so much in just all music, especially for country right now, because I think we're finally out there. We're finally where people are paying attention to country music, and we're part of the world of music now. We're not out by ourselves anymore."

'The House That Built Me' was also nominated for Best Country Song, with the award going to Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now,' and is still in the running for Song of the Year.
