Carrie Underwood to Duet With Tony Bennett

Carrie Underwood has been tapped to sing with Tony Bennett on his second duets album, according to Hit Fix. The album, titled 'Duets 2' is a follow-up to Bennett's critically acclaimed, 2006 'Duets' album, which earned the then-80-year-old singer two Grammys.

'Duets 2' will be composed of jazz standards, including 'Stranger in Paradise,' which Bennett first recorded in 1955. The legendary crooner will also share the microphone with Amy Winehouse and Josh Groban for the album, which is scheduled to be released in September, a month following Bennett's 85th birthday.

This will be Carrie's second time singing with the pop and jazz legend. In December 2006, she sang 'For Once in My Life' with Bennett, Michael Buble and Josh Groban on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' Click here to see that performance.
Carrie can also be heard on an 'American Idol' compelation CD, with 'Before He Cheats.' 'American Idol -- The Hits,' will hit stores March 15, and feature Chris Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks, Adam Lambert, Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard, David Cook, Kris Allen and reigning champ Lee DeWyze.

Why are you even commenting on his lack of knowledge, he wants you to get upset. We all know that Tony Bennett is one of the best singers aroung and that Carrie Underwood is lucky to sing with him. This Mike4425 is looking to make people angry. Just ignore it.

mike4425w-you are truly pathetic. It's truly sad that your education has failed you. To not know the difference between a back up singer and singing a duet. You must have missed a lot of school. Carrie is a gifted singer and to be asked to perform with an icon like Tony Bennett-what an honor! You go girl!

ok so carrie is not a washed up has been singer. look at all she's accomplished in the past year...incredible!! and for those who said she hadn't had a grammy in 3 years reba hasn't either. or some other GREAT country acts. just because they don't have a grammy from this year doesn't mean that they aren't worth recognizing. Congrats Carrie

They are jealous, and ill informed. Trashing Tony Bennett just shows how ignorant they are of his reputation and greatness.

By the way, last time I checked, singing a "duet" is hardly being a "back up singer," (sigh). Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Amy Winehouse and many other superstars will be on the album as well. It is a great honor to be included on this album. Jealous much?
