"'You Lie' is a flavor that nobody has tasted from the Band Perry," Kimberly tells The Boot. "It's a spit-fire bona fide country song, and it has our favorite lyric of the whole album."
"It says 'I never liked the taste of crow but, baby, I ate it,'" Neil chimes in. "That pretty much sums up the whole song."
They may disagree on some things, like food choices on the road, but recording 'You Lie' was a unanimous decision for the trio. "When we heard that one, we said, 'Oh, we have to record this song," Kimberly recalls. "That was our favorite one, so it's going to be an exciting next page for the Band Perry."
No one would blame the sibling group for feeling compelled to keep churning out chart-friendly hits, but they insist they don't focus on radio success. "I don't think it puts pressure on us simply because they're all like your kids," Kimberly explains. "They all have different purposes, they all have different faces, so they'll just serve us as need be at different times."
Their favorite part of the past year, since they burst onto the music scene, surprisingly has nothing to do with their fame, and everything to do with their loyal -- and expanding -- fan base.
"It feels like a family," Kimberly asserts. "The stories that we are singing on stage are also the stories of the people out there. We're living the same life."
The Band Perry will head out next month with Tim McGraw on his Emotional Traffic tour, and will also head across the border later this year to to perform several dates in Canada with Keith Urban. Keep track of their schedule here.
