As Lady Gaga continues to put the finishing touches on her upcoming album, the pop sensation gave fans a treat Thursday by releasing a country version of her hit song, 'Born This Way.'

Gaga made the unexpected announcement via Twitter, writing, "Surprise Monsters!: 'Born This Way' (The Country Road Version) will be released on Twitter tomorrow at 12am PST/3am EST 3/25."

What do you think of Gaga going country? Listen to the song below, then leave us your comments.

The original version of 'Born This Way,' which was released in February, was an immediate hit, though Gaga has come under fire for its similarities to Madonna's 1989 hit 'Express Yourself.'

Gaga debuted her first live performance of the song at this year's Grammys, where she was carried down the red carpet in an egg, only to "hatch" on stage for her performance.

I am a huge country fan, but i happen to also like Lady Gaga. I like the song "Born This Way" and the country version is different but good. I give Lady Gaga props for being different and creative.

I have always liked GaGa,not all her theatrics but she has a very good voice with a large range. But she is a genius at marketing herself, no one said she is going country, it's one song and I've heard Jennifer sig rock and roll. It just shows talent when you can switch to different types of music and do well in both.

I have to go and lie down now. The constant repetition in the song gave me a headache. Talk about annoying!

Well, I guess we just found the title song for the soundtrack to "Brokeback Mountain 2." Just because you put a harmonica track on it, doesn't make this a country song!

just cause you add a harmonica and more guitar doesn't make it "country". I love country music from the old to the new but I have broader likes too. Gaga has become an icon almost overnight and she is a marketing machine. I like both versions. I'll just use the standard lines....."you go girl", and "gaga rocks". Sorry I missed you at roundup last sunday night.
