"We are disappointed they have chosen to file as we had hoped to address these issues privately, however we hope that this can be resolved amicably," the band said in a statement today (April 14).
The suit, which was filed in Davidson County Chancery Court, names the band and its three members: Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus. According to Turner Nichols, the band paid the management company's fee until their parting in February, but they are owed commission through June 2013. Additionally, they are demanding payment for TV appearances and DVDs that it negotiated.
The management company also cites their longtime relationship beginning "when the defendants were struggling and unknown singers, initially financing their careers out of the plaintiff's own funds. The plaintiff has guided the defendants' careers to success as internationally famed singers and recording artists, as multi-platinum record sellers, and as tremendously successful touring artists who have achieved astounding financial success, earning hundreds of millions of dollars."
