Whitney Duncan's Cousin Abducted in Home Invasion

AP

Country singer Whitney Duncan's cousin was abducted from her West Tennessee home yesterday. Twenty-year-old Holly Bobo (pictured left) was dragged from her home by a man dressed in camouflage in an apparent home invasion, according to Nashville's CBS-TV affiliate WTVF NewsChannel5.

Last night, Whitney made requests for prayers for Holly's safety via her Facebook page and Twitter account. "My cousin Holly was kidnapped this morning," she wrote. "Please pray for her & our family. This is really sad & shocking."

"Lord have mercy," Whitney continued. "I feel like I'm walking in a nightmare. Thanks for all the prayers and please keep spreading the Amber Alert."

Holly's 25-year-old brother witnessed the abduction from inside the house and saw Holly's attacker drag her from the carport into the wooded area nearby. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Violent Crime Response Team today continued to gather evidence at the home in Decatur County, located approximately 100 miles from Memphis. Authorities increased their search for the young woman this morning.

The suspected home invasion happened around 7:30 am on Wednesday (April 13) as Holly was leaving for class at the University of Tennessee Martin, where she is a nursing student. Holly is 5-foot-3-inches tall with shoulder-length blond hair and weighs around 110 lbs. She was wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans at the time of her suspected abduction.

Whitney went back to West Tennessee, and she tweeted on Thursday night, "Just drove by the command post at the church. It is so touching how many people in this community and around have come together to find Holly."

Officials have asked if you see Holly or anything suspicious to contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

UPDATE: Whitney and Holly's family have offered a $25,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the safe return of Holly.

Something is definately wrong with this picture. The brother just watched on as the guy in camouflage ran off with his sister? Thats messed up. What a dumb ass, poor girl we can only imagine what she is going though or if she's even alive for that matter. Our prayers are with you

I'm sorry, but if someone was kidnapping my sister/brother/friend or whatever they would have their hands full and wouldn't just walk away through the woods without me on their tail like a bloodhound.

I agree that there is more to the story than is being told. Unless the 25 yr. old brother is handicapped, then, I am sure there is something very wrong with the story. 25 yr olds are mostly very secure in themselves and he would have been out that door as soon as he saw his sister being roughed up. I pray she is ok and gets away from who ever did this.

The cousins look very similar so it could have been another crazy stalker and got the wrong person. These things happen in seconds so brother is not to blame! The family is going through hell so please pray, send positive thoughts and be kind to the family. Be thankful it wasn't you or a member of your family!

The story does say "suspected home invasion"; note how they say "suspected", despite an eyewitness.....yes, it's true that the police intentionally leave certain details out, details that only the criminal and his or her victim would know, so I understand all of that, but......the account of events as told by her brother does indeed sound suspect regardless of the actual crime. As I was reading the story, I was waiting for the part where the brother grabbed a weapon and ran out the door after them, but according to the story, that did not happen; as such, I, too, am quite suspicious of the brother's story as it is currently being told. Then again, we aren't being told everything in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. Only time will supply us with the actual facts.

Too late now.. 50% chance left after the crazy got her to find her in good shape...The brother at 25 could have helped her or at least ran after the crazy person getting her if that is what happened???
By running after the person dragging her it would have gave extra time for her to get away or got them both into a big issue, but it would have helped

You don't just watch a person get draged away in the woods and not yell out or chase the person that is on foot....
