Clay Walker had his first No. 1 single, 'What's It to You,' when Easton Corbin was only 11 years old. Now that they both have enjoyed success at the top of the charts, the two stars are getting ready to share the stage. The singer-songwriters are the latest artists to sign up for the popular CMA Songwriter Series at the Joe's Pub in New York City.
Clay and Easton will perform two shows at the legendary club on June 22. They will be joined by Carson Chamberlain ['Between the Devil and Me,' 'Walk a Little Straighter'], Mark D. Sanders ['I Hope You Dance,' 'Blue Clear Sky'] and long-time host Bob DiPiero.
Easton and Carson are both enjoying a Top 20 hit right now, with the third single, 'I Can't Love You Back,' from Easton's self-titled debut CD, that they co-wrote, with Carson also performing double-duty as producer. The pair are undoubtedly working on tunes for Easton's sophomore album as well, which the Mercury artist hopes to release later this year.
"I'm starting to write for it and look for the perfect songs," he tells The Boot. "I'm going to keep doing the same thing I'm doing, as far as country music, and just look for songs that I relate to -- great songs."
