"Going from 1,000 to over 7,000 in attendance was quite the feat, and we are more than thrilled with the outcome!" Miranda writes her website of the April 30 event. "It's a moving experience to see all of the support for a cause that is so close to my heart. I am thankful to my fans and everyone who came to be part of this day and help these animals."
While Miranda may be focused on her May 14 wedding to Blake Shelton, her mind is always on her non-profit MuttNation Foundation, which supports no-kill animal shelters. "I've been able to really be involved with animal shelters, in particular, because that's something really close to my heart," she reiterates on MuttNation's website. "Cause for the Paws is a benefit I do for the Humane Society of East Texas, because I got my dog there."
Her dog, a small white long-haired terrier named Delilah, is the songbird's constant companion. "Delilah feeds my soul when I'm on the road. She is with me every second," explains the singer. "She doesn't care about Miranda Lambert, she cares about her mom, and that's one thing that keeps you grounded, is having somebody that loves you unconditionally."
After the weekend wedding and a honeymoon at an undisclosed location, Miranda will begin working on the follow-up album to her platinum-selling CD, 'Revolution.' Her latest single, 'Heart Like Mine,' is at No. 2 on the charts.
