"That's their next single, and we're actually going to do their video in about two weeks," Natasha tells The Boot. "I love them! It's so interesting because they are more country, they have that country flavor, and I am so amazed at how country musicians value real music. It has been awesome to work with them."
Natasha is traveling to the U.S. to launch the next leg of her Less Is More tour, and she's looking forward to working with the trio who each "have their own distinct personality," she says. In fact, the singer hints that she plans to write with Flatts bassist/piano player Jay DeMarcus and perhaps record with the band again.
On her current tour, Natasha says she is adopting country music's stripped-down approach that moves away from glamor and glitter and focuses more on the music. That's something she and Kelly Clarkson bonded over when they met at the May 7 Coca-Cola 125th Anniversary Celebration in Atlanta.
"We both looked at each other and said, 'We have to do something together. We just have to sing something," says Natasha. "She's got an amazing voice ... She has got pipes, that girl. When she sings, she is very emotional. You feel her singing very deep inside."
Natasha's emotions are what prompted her to record 'Easy.'
"If something gives me goosebumps, I want to get involved," she says. "I just knew I could sing that song because I love what it is about. A lot of things in life people think are easy aren't easy. The subject and song are so deep, and everyone has been through a break up and trying to make it look easy. Everyone can relate to that."
Natasha is currently in Munich, Germany, and doesn't yet know all the video details. Based on recording with the trio, though, she expects to have plenty of fun.
"It was cool," she says of recording 'Easy.' "I don't usually work with that many people around in the studio, but they had many guests. There were famous football players and a whole crew. It was really a lot of fun.
"In the next five or 10 years you'll likely see a folk-country album from me, and a dance project," Natasha continues. "I want to work with a lot more artists. Music is movement, especially nowadays with the internet. There is so much talent out there. I just really want to bring it all together and do music with other people rather than make it about one person."
