Campers will participate in a songwriting workshop with Gary, along with songwriters Brett James and Odie Blackmon. The song will be recorded by famed producer Mark Bright with Carrie at a private recording session, and will be performed live at the Grand Ole Opry with Darius on July 1.
Darius reprises his efforts with the camp; the singer joined 25 campers to perform 'Music From the Heart,' written by the campers, Chris Young and Brett, during the ACM Awards ceremony last April. "When I was up there, I just felt every ounce of love that these guys have," he recalls of the memorable performance. "I love these guys. I can't wait for the camp so I can go hang out. They're awesome to hang out with; we laugh all the time. We're always high-fiving and hugging. These are my friends. This is my band."
Additionally, the campers will be treated to a visit with Little Big Town at the famed Manuel's boutique and an evening of dinner and karaoke with Wynonna. The purpose of the camp is to offer an invaluable creative learning experience with Nashville's most premiere musicians.
