Steel Magnolia's Meghan and Joshua Are Engaged!

Is the sound of wedding bells in Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones' near future? According to Joshua, yes! Well ... maybe.

"I'd like to do it next year on my birthday (July 10)," he dishes to Country Weekly.

But Meghan isn't quite sure about her beloved's date of choice. "We were thinking about it," she says. "See, he just thinks July 10 because of his birthday and I'm going, 'Well, do you know if it's a Saturday? Is it a Tuesday?' He doesn't think about those things."

And apparently, the future groom has had a lot of time to think about those things! Joshua gave Meghan his great-grandmother's antique engagement ring prior to winning CMT's 'Can You Duet' back in 2009. We're not sure why (or how) the couple has kept this secret for two years. But we do know the reason they haven't yet walked down the aisle: a mutual bad habit.

"We're both bad procrastinators," Joshua claims.

"We're terrible," the bride-to-be confirms. "We went to Vegas for the ACMs, and we went to dinner and we're sitting there with our friends. We're like, 'We should just go get married. Why not?'"

Josh quips, "We ate too much!"

"And we were tired," Meghan adds. "So we feel like we're married, because we're too tired to get married. It's like an old couple or something."

Though they've been technically engaged for a few years now, Joshua may have to get down on one knee once again. "He's waited so long that he's going to have to re-ask," Meghan jokes.

Steel Magnolia debuted their new single, 'Without You,' on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Monday night (June 27). Click here to watch their performance, and watch The Boot's exclusive 'Day in the Life of Steel Magnolia' video below.

Joshua, I'm laughing because I was thinking the same thing, although I like Brooks and Dunn, two all-american guys with great families. I know they'd laugh too.

What did the happy couple say that you would never hear in Africa, Central America or any of the Third World countries?

Hey Joey, Africa's not a country, Hon. It's a continent. The countries within it are too numerous to name and there are a lot of wealthy ones included in the mix. Why ppl think Africa is a big uncivilized country filled with villages of dusty & naked poor ppl living in huts is beyond me. A lot of Africans could buy you a few times over, Buddyboy. The media seeks out the poorer countries in Africa to show you the little starving kids swatting gnats in the remote regions of Africa and you blindly believe that's what it's really like? They are deep within the ghettos there just like the ghettos here in the projects and trailer parks. Most Africans never even see those parts of their continent. Just like I've never seen a lot of the desolate areas here unless I go to volunteer somewhere. Saying someone is an African is almost like saying someone is an American. The only difference is there are ppl in parts of our continent (North America) who are not considered American (ie Canadians, Mexicans, Inuits {ppl from Greenland} and the list goes on). And Central America is referred to as such b/c it is the central region of the Americas (parts of North & South America collectively), which encompasses several countries as well.
I'd love to stay and continue to teach, but this is already longer than I expected. I just felt compelled to educate you b/c of ur ignorant comment intended to be passed off as a lame joke. U should really get out more. See the world. There's a lot more to it than your trailer park.
