According to Nielsen Soundscan, 'Red River Blue has sold more than 116,000 copies since its July 12 street date. The album is the Oklahoma-born superstar's first full-length disc to hold the top spot and only his second No. 1. In August 2010, his six-pak 'All About Tonight' became his very first chart-topping collection.
Another country act surpassing the chart performance of his previous disc is Chris Young, whose 'Neon' holds the No. 2 spot behind Blake on the country chart and is No. 4 on the Billboard 200, wedged in between Adele's '21' at No. 3 and Beyonce's '4' at No. 5. In 2009, Chris' 'The Man I Want to Be' peaked at No. 6 on the country chart and reached No. 19 on the Billboard 200.
Also experiencing her best chart week is Ashton Shepherd, whose 'Where Country Grows' bows at No. 11 (and No. 37 on the Billboard 200). The album has no doubt been aided by the Top 20 success of the sassy single, 'Look It Up.'
Jason Aldean has scored his seventh No. 1 hit as 'Dirt Road Anthem' reaches the pinnacle on the Country Songs chart. The tune is also among the week's 10 best-selling digital tracks in all genres and has now sold more than 1.3 million singles. Jason's album, 'My Kinda Party' is No. 3 on the country chart for the week and has now logged 37 weeks in all, with sales in excess of 1.5 million.
