Bucky Covington Fires Back at Theft Accusation

Lyric Street

Bucky Covington has seen his name splashed all over the headlines in recent weeks -- but for all the wrong reasons. The singer who first shot to fame as an 'American Idol' finalist, has been charged with grand theft, after concert promoter William Fuller alleged that Bucky, along with his twin brother Rocky Covington and sister-in-law Terra Covington, stole more than $1,500 at a gig in Ormond Beach, Fla., on June 30. It's an accusation the North Carolina native vehemently denies.

"It's absolutely and completely false," Bucky tells the Daytona Beach News-Journal. "The promoter didn't have his fingers together. He did not pay people. I didn't get paid."

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter maintains that not only is he innocent, but the gig actually cost him money, including $2,500 he paid to get his tour bus to the gig. He also claims other vendors were unpaid, as well, and he's now considering legal action against the promoter.

"This is just a paint job gone bad," Bucky insists.

The case is currently under investigation. View the police report here.

The 'I'll Walk' singer continues his Hometown tour this week, with shows in West Virginia and Texas. Keep track of his concert schedule here.

Just in from AllAccess.com: "On FRIDAY, AUGUST 26th, the State Attorney General’s office dismissed all charges.

A statement read, “After a review of the information and evidence presented, the prosecutor determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove the charges against Mr. COVINGTON beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”

(Justice has been served, and now we can keep on enjoying Bucky's music...)

Ive seen Bucky in concert 2 yrs ago...He was a great singer, great performer, and
a very sweet guy. His twin, Rocky was really cool...
We met and had photos taken with him after the show. He was friendly, and very good looking. His hair was soft and he smelled so good. He is far from a loser like some of you think...He is awesome.
