Held at five different venues in the vicinity of downtown Nashville, the Americana Music Festival is open to the general public with the purchase of a wristband. This year's festival marks the return of Radney Foster and Bill Lloyd as a full-fledged duo, following the release of their latest studio album, 'It's Already Tomorrow,' Foster & Lloyd's first in 21 years. Earlier this year, the two sat down with The Boot and spoke about their longstanding relationship with Americana music fans.
"The first week out we were the most-added at Americana [radio stations]. This week, we're tied for second most-added. We're already on the chart after two weeks. There is a level where there's another type of radio that's very amenable to what we're doing," says Radney, discussing the duo's single, 'It's Already Tomorrow.'
"We're lucky we have plenty of residual goodwill after 20 years," Bill adds.
It was announced in May that Robert Plant and Elizabeth Cook lead this year's Americana Music Awards nominations with three each. The awards will be held on October 13 at the Ryman Auditorium.
