While film-goers might have expected a few footloose moves from the 'Dancing With the Stars' champ, Julianne tells The Boot that a last-minute change in film director and script kept the remake from straying too far from the original. "It was going to be this singing, dancing, big shebang movie," she notes. "Now it's going to be more like the original and really, really holding all the key points from the movie. It's great for me, because I feel like it's a real performance, acting piece for me. I don't sing or dance in it, so it's going to be really fun and challenging."
Julianne isn't the only country star attached to the flick. Blake Shelton, the Zac Brown Band, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Hunter Hayes, Whitney Duncan and Jana Kramer have all contributed to the official film soundtrack, in stores and at digital retailers beginning Sept. 27. Last week, we premiered Blake's version of the movie title track, which was originally recordeby pop superstar Kenny Loggins. (See the soundtrack's song list below.)
