The 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer has plenty of experience in front of the camera. The 50-year-old has also appeared in episodes of 'The Nanny,' 'Love Boat,' as well as starred in the movie, 'The Spy Next Door.' But it's his role on the Disney mega-hit 'Hannah Montana,' opposite his daughter, Miley Cyrus, that made the Kentucky native famous with the younger generation -- and caused a bit of controversy when he blamed the show for the rebellious behavior his teenager was exhibiting. But now, the multi-platinum-selling singer says he has nothing but love for the TV show that afforded him international recognition.
"I would love to set the record straight," Billy Ray explains. "I love 'Hannah Montana.' I love Disney. I love our fans that's been with us throughout this whole show. This has been an incredible journey. Sometimes when you get on this ride, you may end up feeling like you're strapped to a rocket and you're going through the universe a zillion miles an hour. You're barely hanging on to survive. I've been through that twice in my life: once with 'Achy Breaky Heart' and my album 'Some Gave All,' and fortunately I hung in there long enough to get to ride that ride again."
In addition to branching out into more acting roles, Billy Ray is also promoting his new album of patriotic tunes, 'I'm American,' which includes a remake of his hit, 'Some Gave All,' with Craig Morgan, Darryl Worley and Jamey Johnson providing guest vocals on the tune.
Billy Ray's episode of '90210' will air in November.
