Blake says he made the decision earlier this year to not tour this fall during the taping of the second season of 'The Voice.' "We had signed with Brad Paisley for his tour and then I was offered the opportunity to do 'The Voice,' and I wanted to do it too," he told The Boot. "Man it was rough, because we would film a couple days on the show and then I'd fly out to meet Brad on tour. Then I would fly back to the set of 'The Voice' to do a couple more days of taping the show."
While he made it through juggling both of his jobs, Blake says that kind of schedule is more than he is willing to do again. "I am not touring this fall, except for a few dates that were already booked," he explains. "I want to be able to be there on the set every day, so I don't miss out on getting to know my team and the other coaches. When you are gone so much, you basically just have a working relationship with everyone, and I wanted to have more than that this time."
The singer, who is up for five CMA awards in November, including Entertainer of the Year, says he is also taking off next spring during the time that 'The Voice' airs.
Blake is excited to have Dia as a part of the Well Lit & Amplified Tour 2012. "I think I embarrass her a lot still to this day, because I just gush over her," he admits. "I'll get drunk and send her these sappy emails about how she made me fall in love with music again, and how much I love her, and she'll be like, 'Thanks.' I talk to her a couple times a week, and she is getting close to releasing some of her music. It's so much fun to be a small part of helping her; it's a good feeling."
In addition to regular tickets, the tour will offer VIP packages that include premium seats, a limited edition autographed poster and other exclusive merchandise. These tickets can be ordered through Blake's website, www.BlakeShelton.com.
The singer has revealed little about the tour itself, although it's a good bet that with Blake, it's going to be a fun atmosphere for all. With nine No. 1 singles, including 'Honey Bee,' 'Who Are You When I'm Not Looking,' 'All About Tonight' and 'Hillbilly Bone,' plus numerous chart hits and album favorites, Blake will have no problem pulling together a great show for his fans.
