Jack White Records Lost Hank Williams Song

Jack WhiteFrederick Breedon, WireImage

Bob Dylan wrote of Hank Williams in his memoir 'Chronicles, Volume One,' that "Intuitively I knew, though, that his voice would never drop out of sight or fade away." 'The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams' is a new collection of songs which draws from notes and lyrics left behind in a briefcase by the country legend at the time of his unexpected death at age 29. Indeed, Hank's legacy lives on.

The songs have been recovered and recorded by a multitude of artists including indie rock mainstay Jack White, whose seemingly tireless work ethic has made his projects almost ubiquitous in the music world.

Jack's contribution on this collection comes in the form of 'You Know That I Know,' a faithful take on Hank's signature country lilt. Other artists who contribute to the collection include Norah Jones, Levon Helm, Merle Haggard and Dylan himself.

'The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams' is out today (Oct. 4). Check out the star-studded tracklisting and stream Jack's song here.

Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, and George Jones are truely the best country music people too ever lived. They not only wrote their songs but they lived them. Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton are the only two that even come close too being legends also. Here are real country music stars, real people, not fake. Don't get me wrong there are some great artists out there but these folks are the real deal and make you think about life.

Hey Lady Alexis
Why don't you educate yourself about who can sing country and who can't. You are as stupid as wildman 52. You don't know s.... Hank Jr is a damn good songwriter and a good singer. Try reading his autobiography before you spout off your stupid opinion. Damn, you people are so stupid....and who really cares about ESPN. They try to be funny all the time but they're not. I quit watching them a couple of years ago. I'd rather watch Fox News for some honest news.

for Wildman52....You are a damn fool, just like the rest of your liberal, stupid friends.
Hank Williams was the greatest, and Hank Williams Jr is close behind him. So Wildman, just shut the f up until you have some education because Hank Jr was right about Obama and the rest. Whoever votes for that bunch deserves to be kicked out of the country.

Ed Baggett... Do you really think that Hank Williams Jr gives a damn about what Fox thinks about what he said about Obama..He has always been the kind to tell it like it is !! And I totally agree with him .. We need more like him ..& WILDMAN52 you don't make money by not being a singer , Hank Jr is a very good singer !!!! It just turns my stomach to hear some of these singers now days sing & call it Country Music ..It is NOT Country Music !!!!, They are just making a Mockery Of Country Music, Disgraceful !!!!

You could call Hank Williams the Babe Ruth of country and western music. Like Babe Ruth, whose home run records were surpassed, his total of hits has been surpassed. However, all these years later he remains, like Babe Ruth, a towering legend in his field.
