Video: 'Life Ain't Fair'
Why We Dig It: Sometimes the worst of times bring out the best in music. "'Life Ain't Fair' is about the state of our country and how so many folks are dealing with the complications of everyday life -- whether it be losing their jobs, their faith, their homes, their struggle to keep a relationship together under hard times," Josh tells The Boot of the song's inspiration. "The good news is that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, and you just have to keep on keepin' on and focus on the fact that it will get better. Keep the hope alive."
Reflecting the theme of the tune, Josh wanted to keep the video simple. "We shot it during the recording sessions for the album at Omni studios in Nashville and at Gibson studios in New York," he explains. "Our goal was to show the simple nature of a powerful song shot in black and white to keep the emotional context of the lyric on the forefront. On a technical note, I played and sang during the video, as I 'm not a good lip-syncer or air guitarist!"
