It's one of country music's biggest honors, along with one of the most historically unpredictable: CMA New Artist of the Year. This year, nominees include the Band Perry, Chris Young, Thompson Square, Eric Church and Luke Bryan, with the Country Music Association confirming exclusively with The Boot today that all five will be performing on the November 9 broadcast. This will be the first time since 2008 that all New Artist nominees have scored performance slots on the show dubbed "Country Music's Biggest Night."

This will be the Band Perry's second CMA Awards performance, following their 2010 live rendition of their triple platinum-selling hit, 'If I Die Young,' which is this year nominated for Single and Song of the Year. The sibling trio have five total nods going into this year's broadcast.

This is the second year in a row that both Luke Bryan and Chris Young have been nominated for CMA New Artist of the Year. Both have had phenomenal success since last November's trophy went to Zac Brown Band, including chart-topping songs and new albums that have debuted higher than any in their respective careers.

Eric Church, a first-time CMA nominee, watched his latest album, 'Chief,' not only top the country charts but also the all-genre Billboard 200. Fellow CMA first-timers Thompson Square are also up for Vocal Duo of of the Year and are celebrating the recent announcement that their breakthrough hit, 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,' has sold more than 1.5 million digital downloads.

All five New Artist of the Year nominees join a CMA performance list that is sure to make for a spectacular night, not to mention a ratings grabber. Other confirmed performers are Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney with Grace Potter and Rascal Flatts with Natasha Bedingfield. Hosted by 'Remind Me' duet partners Brad and Carrie, the 45th Annual CMA Awards air live from Nashville, Nov. 9 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

Most of these artists in this category should be long past the notion of being new to the country music scene especially Luke Bryan & Chris Young. They were both up for this same award in 2010 with Zac Brown taking the honors. So is the CMA saying until these artists win, they will remain on the ballot? Eric Church has charted some great songs in the last few years, Luke Bryan has had a couple of #1's & Chris Young has had 3 # 1 single's in a row!!! Seriously CMA ..... I really do like all these artists but I would like to know how they qualify to be nominees in this category .....

Yes, but will it just be a 30 second performance leading into the commercial break?

Yes, but will they get to sing their whole song or just 30 seconds before the commercial break?
