"We were all together," bassist Jay DeMarcus tells The Boot. "Our first single was 'Praying for Daylight' and we were actually coming back from a radio tour. It was one of those 'Smash or Trash' kind of things. It was scary. But I think two people liked it, so here we are!"
"We were tense for a minute there," adds guitarist Joe Don Rooney.
"It was pretty cool that we were all together, though," says singer Gary LeVox.
Natasha Bedingfield, who has experienced huge success at pop radio and joined the Flatts for the duet, 'Easy,' admits her first experience with radio was a little unsettling, too.
"I was shocked the first time I heard myself on the radio," says the singer. "I think I was walking into a shop and suddenly I felt like I had to duck, because I felt like I was back in my music video that I just did. It felt great, but it did feel weird."
Rascal Flatts and Natasha Bedingfield will join forces onstage next month, to perform 'Easy' during the CMA Awards telecast, Nov. 9 at 8:00 PM (ET) on ABC.
