"Just saw that 'Over You' by Miranda is one of the top 5 most downloaded country songs right now," Blake tweeted. "So proud. So unbelievably proud." Later, he added, "Its odd ... Being this proud but at the same time wishing it never had to be written ... I still miss my brother everyday. Every single day ..."
Miranda added the track to her latest album at the urging of her husband.
"He was playing this pretty little melody and we started adding words," she tells Ladies Home Journal. "Later he said, 'I think it's better if you record it. Honestly, I don't think I can get through singing it every night onstage, so what's the point?'"
The tune is in sharp contrast to some signature Miranda tunes that spotlight her feistier side, such as 'White Liar' and 'Baggage Claim.' And that's exactly what the 27-year-old intended. "I love that song and I feel like it's time for me to show I have that side of me that's vulnerable and hurting for someone else," she explains.
The couple will both head to the CMA Awards on Wednesday (Nov. 9), where they are nominated for a combined total of seven awards. The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
