Steve Azar returns to blues roots, releasing 'Delta Soul Vol. 1
,' a collection of tunes that highlight the Mississippi native's distinctive voice and guitar skills. The singer first gained mainstream fame in 2001 for his monster single, 'I Don't Have To Be Me ('Til Monday)
"I grew up with such great influences, and I always felt very comfortable talking my home and living in the Mississippi Delta, and I have been inspired to write about it," Steve tells Suite 101
. "At least half of my songs to this day have been about home, and people seem to really gravitate towards that. It's going to be my first real rock blues record."
' alum Josh Gracin returns with 'Redemption
,' the singer's first studio album in more than three years. Released under the Average Joe's Entertainment label, the lengthy 16-song album features the singles 'She's a Different Kind of Crazy,' 'Cover Girl,' and the collection's current radio single, 'Long Way to Go,' which recently became Josh's first Adult Contemporary hit, sitting at No. 16 this week.
"The album is 100 percent my interpretation, 100 percent my idea of what I wanted the record to be," Josh explains. "Just in that alone, it's going to sound different than anything else I've done."
