Blake Shelton Wins 2011 CMA Male Vocalist of the Year

Blake Shelton has won his second CMA Award for Male Vocalist of the Year! The 'Honey Bee' singer, and husband of reigning CMA Female Vocalist Miranda Lambert, beat out Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban for the top spot.

"I didn't really prepare anything to say at all," Blake told the crowd before thanking Miranda, his managers, Warner Music Nashville and longtime buddy Reba. "But most of all, all you freakin' crazy people out here!"

Blake's latest hit, 'God Gave Me You,' has taken a meteoric rise to the top of the charts, surpassing his previous record-breaking tune, 'Honey Bee.' With this giant win, it seems that this singer has a lot to thank the man upstairs for.

"It's no secret, Miranda and I have had our ups and downs over the years and this was definitely at a low point at our relationship," Blake tells The Boot of hearing the song for the first time. "I was flipping through stations and landed on a contemporary Christian station, and that song came on and I almost had to pull the truck over. I felt like I was hearing that song at that moment for a reason."

This is Blake's second win in the Male Vocalist category after claiming the title last year. He went into the award show with a total of five CMA nominations. Blake had the big honor of kicking off tonight's broadcast with the first performance of the night -- a country-fried version of 'Footloose' with the iconic Kenny Loggins.

It always amazes me how some people can sit in their arm chairs and critque performers. Not only is Blake Shelton the best country singer there is he has more firsts than any other artist. Please read his reviews. These people get paid for their opinions and don't have to lie.

They make a handsome couple but he cant sing very well and she sings too much. I watched her face when he wasnt given an award and when he was finally nominated and received one wow she woke up and smiled. These awards show focus on the ones that have little talent. just like that Taylor Swift what a salp int he face to other performers who can sing and perform. Whoever nominates and gives her an award must be family. She has no talent. and cant sing.

yuck..i have yet to see what is so great about him and his wife, all she does is screech and sceam, and he cant sing for a darn..a used to be trying to act like he is hot..This awards show sucked... its no more country music than tiny tim was tap dance

Congrats Blake I Knew you would do it but I really think you should have gotten Entertainer of the Year. Also Song Of The Year. But we are grateful for the award you did get. You have waited a long time to be reconized and really deserve it. All your fans are behind you and always will be no matter what. Now back to voting for your other nominations ACA's Ama's and The Peoples Choice Awards. LOL

Why does CMA NOT recognize Toby Keith. Toby is one of our greatest Country's music stars his videos are the BEST and yet year after he is pushed to the side like a dirty rug!!! ANBODY KNOW WHAT IN THE WORLD THEY HAVE AGAINST THIS GRFEAT ARTIST

Last I heard is Toby is not a member of any of the music academy's. That is supposedly why they don't recognize him. But in my opinion I don't think he needs awards to say he is great. :)
