Craig Morgan Eyes Recurring Role on TV's 'Army Wives'

Craig Morgan knows a thing or two about the lives of military families. A veteran of the U.S. Army, the 47-year-old may get a chance to share his firsthand knowledge, and his creative talents, on the small screen.

The married father of four traveled to Charleston, S.C., recently, to film a part on Lifetime's hit series, 'Army Wives.' Craig reveals that the appearance went so well, the show's executives want to give the singer a recurring presence on the show.

"For whatever reason, they liked me," he tells Nashville's Tennessean. "And when it's all said and done, they're going to try to write me in on a real role. How cool is that? It would be awesome."

The Tennessee native may be interested in pursuing an acting career, but he has no plans of leaving his music career behind. He recently released 'This Ole Boy,' a five-song EP, and just shot a video of the project's title track with 'Rizzoli & Isles' star Angie Harmon portraying his romantic interest. The song is the first single from his upcoming CD, which will be the singer's debut project for his new label, Black River Entertainment.

"I've never been happier," he maintains. "This will be the last record deal I have."

Craig's full CD should hit shelves early next year. His five-song EP can be purchased here.

What do you get when you play a country music record backwards? You get your wife back, your house back, your cow back...and you lose Jesus.

Since the military is trying to distance itself from this show, I wonder how this will affect his USO tours, and if he likes the military so much, why would he be on a show that they a against?
