Keith Urban's Throat Surgery a Success, Spokesman Says

Capitol Records

Good news for country fans and Nicole Kidman: Keith Urban's recent throat surgery was a success, the Aussie superstar's spokesman told Reuters. Nicole's hitmaking hubby is said to be recovering at an undisclosed location.

Although he's been placed on full vocal rest and ordered by doctors not to speak for three weeks, the 'Sweet Thing' singer looks forward to regaining his voice and hitting the stage once again.

In a video posted shortly before Tuesday's (Nov. 22) procedure, which involved the removal of a polyp from his vocal cord, Keith thanked fans for such a "crazy, great, phenomenal year." In particular, he expressed his gratitude to those who supported his Get Closer World Tour 2011 and responded to news of his vocal woes by sending get-well cards, flowers and emails.

"I'm overwhelmed by your gratitude, and your prayers are really appreciated by me and my family," Keith said in the video. "Be well, be safe and have a great new year. I'll look forward to seeing you in 2012."

Keith, met you backstage in 2003 at the Mandalay Bay. You were touring with Kenny Chesney. The concert was great and I still have the photo of us. Sorry about your throat but I know you're going to be just fine and singing again in no time. Get well soon!

Keith, I would gently like to advise you to look at our company's website and specifically, our quality personal voice amplifier, JustAMP Digital Amplifier, which is specifically designed for someone with a whisper voice: http://www.justmed.com/index.html

Our main health communities we sell our JustAMP to are customers with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke patients, throat cancer patients who have not had their larynx completely removed, and customers such as yourself with any type of throat surgery requiring them to rest their vocal chords. Our personal voice amplifier is the only amplifier on the market which has a printed circuit board inside, and thus we have tackled some major issues of amplifying a whisper voice with our proprietary software. JustAMP is also the only personal voice amplifier on the market which can be connected to a phone and amplify outgoing voice over the phone lines, and accomplish this hands free.

I apologize for the lengthy comment, but I and my family are big fans of yours and could not imagine a day going by without being able to talk with my own kids and husband such as you are going through now.

We wish you well and wish you a successful recovery.
