Country Music Blooms online auction, with 100% of proceeds going to raise awareness and funding for the Nashville Music Garden. Up for bid is an autographed a handwritten copy of the lyrics of 'Wrong Baby Wrong,' which Stephen co-wrote for Martina's 2009 'Shine' album. He shares with The Boot his own exclusive performance of the song. (Watch it below.)
"One of things I love about songwriting is that I can sing a song, and Martina can sing the same song, but it becomes a total different meaning when a girl sings it," shares Stephen, who co-wrote the track with the Warren Brothers and Robert Ellis Orrall. "The song 'Wrong Baby Wrong' was originally written from the male perspective trying to be the rebound guy. When Martina decided to do it, she changed some of the words and made it a friend encouraging another friend to get over a guy who obviously did her wrong.'
Stephen and Martina join a bevy of country stars including Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes and more in donating items to the auction. Bidding runs through Dec. 5. Click here to learn more about the goodwill online auction.
Stephen and his Love & Theft duo partner Eric Gunderson are currrently on the road promoting their new single, 'Angel Eyes,' which is their first radio release as an RCA Records Nashville recording duo. The group signed with the label earlier this year, following the closing of their previous label home, Lyric Street Records, and the departure of bandmate Brian Bandas.
