Song: 'The Broken Ones'
Why We Dig it: Blake Shelton's 'The Voice' protege introduces her solo project with 'The Broken Ones,' a triumphant video celebrating the beauty of conflicted souls. "Lyrically, this song is very true to my life and how I feel about relationships (past and present) and also how I feel about my friends, and vice versa," Dia tells the AP AltPress. "My closest friends have always loved me despite my faults."
The track is the first release from 'Red,' Dia's debut album which hits stores today (Dec. 6).
"When I heard your voice, I started to smile," Blake, Dia's 'Voice' coach, told her on an early episode of the reality competition show. The reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year has invited Dia to join his 2012 Well Lit & Amplified tour, which kicks off in Toledo, Ohio on Jan. 12.
