"Just broke my collar bone," he tweeted. "Guess I charged this mountain a little too hard."
Included with the post was a picture of the country star with his arm in a sling. This isn't Jake's first time busting his clavicle, and in another tweet, he shared a photo taken during his childhood, just after he'd sustained the same injury in another sporting mishap.
"Thats me and my bro after I fell off my 4 wheeler," he wrote, including a photo of him and his brother wearing matching red and black striped shirts. "Thanks mom for dressing us alike."
Prior to yesterday's tumble, Jake had been enjoying a string of rather good luck. He recently topped the charts with 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night,' his first No. 1 hit, and he's slated to join Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw on this year's Brothers of the Sun Tour.
Luckily, the injury won't keep him sidelined for long. Responding to a fan's tweet about whether he would still be able to play Joe's Bar in Chicago later this month, Jake responded in the affirmative.
"If I have to sit on a stool I'll be there," he wrote. "I can't let y'all down."
