Steel Magnolia, made up of engaged couple Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones, first made a name for themselves in the country music scene by winning CMT's 'Can You Duet' reality competition show back in the fall of 2009. They scored a deal with Big Machine Records, releasing their eponymous debut album in January of 2011. On the strengths of infectious hits such as 'Last Night Again' and the million-selling 'Keep on Loving You,' the duo have scored multiple CMA, ACM and CMT award nominations over the past two years.
While we cannot confirm Meghan and Josh have broken up -- personally or professionally -- we can report that they are no longer with Big Machine Records, the label confirms exclusively with The Boot.
It's been a bumpy last few months for Steel Magnolia, as Josh had to pull out of the Reba tour in September to go to rehab. James Otto took his place on the trek, performing his own hits and a few duets with Meghan. Less than a month later, the singers were happy to report Josh had kicked his addictions.
"He completed his program," Meghan revealed to Country Weekly in November. "I think it's a real brave thing. He's done really well and stuck it out ... He's got some other commitments to fulfill as part of that, but I'm proud of him. I've just tried to support him, and the fans and the label have been super supportive."
The Steep Canyon Rangers will take over for Steel Magnolia at the March 24 Greeneville show.
