"We've got another two-week vacation," James jokes with Taste of Country, explaining that the only time off they get is when a bandmate gets married. "I'm excited ... I'm the last one to fall [laughs]!"
It will indeed be the last time the ACM Top Vocal Group nominees can blame wedding bells for taking a tour break. There are no more EYB bachelors, as Mike Eli was married in 2009, followed by Jon Jones in January 2011 and Chris Thompson in September of 2011.
Sadly, James will spend his first Valentine's Day as a husband back on the road, as the Eli Young Band have a show in Jackson, Miss. on Feb. 14. Still, their better halves are used to their crazy schedules.
"They have to be extremely understanding ladies to be able to be with us in the first place, with as much as we travel and as much as they have to put up with," explains Mike Eli.
After a few more headlining dates this year, the foursome head to Australia with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. "We're extremely excited about because it will be our first time to go to Australia," Mike tells The Boot of the March trek, "and the fact that we're going there and a part of the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill tour is huge."
The Eli Young Band's current single is 'Even if It Breaks Your Heart,' written by Eric Paslay and Will Hoge. "We are huge believers in the lyrics and melody and everything about the song," Mike says. "Being a band for as long as we have, we really feel like we've gone out there and lived this story, so this single is really important to us."
The new song follows the band's very first chart-topper, 'Crazy Girl,' which is nominated for ACM Single and Song of the Year.
