The Bellamy Brothers Fall Victim to Theft in Florida

The Bellamy Brothers spent some time in their home state of Florida recently, where they received an unwelcomed surprise. While shooting a video in the Florida Everglades, thieves helped themselves to thousands of dollars worth of production equipment, by breaking into their rental cars and trucks.

"The police told us that most of the electronics were offered to a local pawn shop right after the theft, but the owner turned the equipment down after suspecting it had been stolen," David Bellamy shares (quote via MSN.com). "Fortunately, the video cameras and guitars were not taken, probably due to their size."

David, along with his brother Howard, were in the middle of shooting four different videos in various locations across the Sunshine State, with Austrian pop music singer DJ Ötzi. Their collaboration is planned for an upcoming international release, which is perfect for the worldwide stars.

"Our success overseas really started with 'Let Your Love Flow,'" David notes of their 1976 hit. "That's what allowed us to keep on all these years because it was a world hit. It was so big in so many countries it allowed us to keep going back."

Fortunately for their American fans, the Bellamy Brothers have plenty of dates scheduled in the United States, including stops in Oklahoma, Texas and Minnesota, as well as a show tonight (January 27) in Burnsville, N.C. They will also head back overseas over the summer for concerts in Switzerland, Denmark and Norway. See their concert schedule here.

Mike, I am sorry but I have to tell you as a "BIG" Bellamy Brothers Fan, they have about just as many Hits as Tim McGraw or Kenny Chesney...... you just don'y got to hear them all because the radio stations don't play them that often because they were really "BIG" in the "GREAT" 80's!!! If you have Sirus, you will and can find that they have thier own station!!!

Why is this news people stealing in Florida it's like Nascar to rednecks lol. The Bellamy Brothers were never really that relavant they did have an ok song "let your love flow" back in the 70's.

I grew up in Southern Florida (Florida City) and left when I enetered the military. Fortunetly, I was stationed at Homestead AFB in the mid 1970's but left for Korea. Always planned on retiring back there. However, the Murriel Boat Lift happaned, and the Cubans just swarmed all over the southern portion; plus the hurricane hit. Nothing left....Never retired there.

Homestead has recovered nicely from the hurricane, but if you only speak English there now you'll be at a disadvantage.

With all the illegal aliens and their teenaged anchor children infesting Florida no one is safe down there. Its becoming a mexican cesspool in central Florida.. Especially, Polk, Hillsborough, Hardee and highlands counties.
