Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton, Super Bowl Performance of 'America the Beautiful' (VIDEO)

Super Bowl XLVI kicked off with a gorgeous duet of 'America the Beautiful' by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. The couple, who were married last May, received thunderous applause for their patriotic performance. Watch it below.

It was a particularly big night for Blake, who was also seen in an action-packed commercial with a hilarious twist for his hit show, 'The Voice,' during the Super Bowl. Season 2 of the reality competition program premiered right after the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots to become the world champs.

I thought Miranda, Blake and Kelly made our country proud. They all sang well. I've seen Miranda wear dresses alot. Next year for the halftime show I think they should get a medley of different country stars. They can start off with Faith and then go to Sugarland, Lady a, Martina, Miranda, Blake, Tim, Kenny, Keith, Sara, and close the show with a big time performance from Shania. I think that would be a great halftime show and no one would be gyrate while wearing bizarre clothes and flip the bird.

I don't mean to offend the fans of Miranda or Blake but that was lousy. For one, it was too slow and they were off key. Elvis Presley's version is so much better and powrful followed closely by Ray Charles version. Of course it's mighty hard to beat Kate Smith's version.
