"It's been a rough couple of weeks. I lost my father-in-law and then I lost one of my best friends in a tragic car accident," the singer shared from stage (quote via the Country Vibe). "I learned something over the last couple of weeks, that it's OK to let music heal you."
Later in the show, as the reigning CMA Female Vocalist sang, ""I thought if I could touch this place or feel it, this brokenness inside me might start healing," from her award-winning tune, 'The House That Built Me,' the Texas native became overcome by her emotions and began to weep. The compassionate audience continued the song, until it ended, allowing Miranda to regain her composure. (Watch a fan's footage of the emotional performance below.)
"Y'all have helped me feel so much better," she shared. "I'm back. I swear I'm back." The singer-songwriter then launched into her feisty tune, 'Gunpowder and Lead,' and flawlessly finished the show. Read more about the Huntsville show here.
Miranda may have faced plenty of sadness in the last few weeks, including the loss of her beloved dog, Dixie, but she still managed to head to Indianapolis yesterday (Feb. 5), to perform 'America the Beautiful' with her husband. See their performance here.
The multi-platinum-selling singer will continue her On Fire tour, with Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann serving as opening acts, with stops in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Ohio. See her complete tour schedule here.
