"I'd kinda been looking for some land just to get away on and be able to take my kids out there and fish if I want to take them fishing or ride four-wheelers," he explains to Country Vibe. "I like to deer hunt so I can do that."
Jason hasn't completely moved his family to the new site yet, but he does enjoy getting out there as much as he can. "It kind of gives me something to do," he notes. "It's kind of quiet and I can take my friends out there."
The property also boasts a cabin that sleeps 18 people, so there's plenty of room for guests. But chances are the singer won't have much time to entertain in the near future. He'll head to Los Angeles this weekend, where he's set to perform his hit, 'Don't You Wanna Stay' with Kelly Clarkson during Sunday's Grammy Awards telecast. He's also nominated for three trophies, including for Best Country Solo Performance for his hit, 'Dirt Road Anthem.'
Following the Grammys, Jason will continue the My Kinda Party tour, which includes Luke Bryan and Lauren Alaina as his opening acts. The singer, who admits he was nervous at first to try to sell tickets in larger venues, spent plenty of time going over every detail for the trek.
"It's a completely different set than we had last year, so it's a completely new look to the tour," he notes. "We spent a lot of time over the holidays designing the stage, getting it ready, making sure it was exactly what I wanted. To be able to have that luxury and go in and be able to create a stage and dream something up and put it into motion, it's a good feeling."
Jason's tour continues this month with stops in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. See his complete concert schedule here.
The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air live Sunday night (Feb. 12) from the Staples Center at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
