Taylor Swift Grammys 2012: Best Country Song Goes to 'Mean'

Getting her feelings hurt has totally paid off for Taylor Swift. Her self-penned hit, 'Mean,' has taken home the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.

"Thank you to anyone who voted for this song," a visibly astonished Taylor said from the stage, accepting the latter award during the Grammy pre-telecast. "I want to thank [Big Machine Records President] Scott Borchetta for believing in this song. When we put it out as a single, people said, 'Really? You're gonna do it?' But my label stood by it, and country radio played it a lot. This is unbelievable!"

Taylor's 'Mean' triumphed over 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not' recorded by Thompson Square, Blake Shelton's 'God Gave Me You,' Trace Adkins' 'Just Fishin'' Vince Gill's 'Threaten Me With Heaven' and 'You and Tequila,' recorded by Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter.

Taylor is also up for Country Album of the Year for 'Speak Now.' The Grammy Awards begin at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.

Taylor deserves every award she has ever received and then some! She is a beautiful, remarkably talented, articulate, admirable young "Lady" that is wise beyond her years. She is capable of reflecting upon her experiences in life and putting them down into songs that people can identify with but could never find the words within themselves. She has become popular on her own merit. She is truly loved by all of her fans, young and old. I think the only reason some people don't like her is because they don't take the time to get familiar with her as a person and artist. It's so true that "People throw rocks at things that shine." It's just a shame. Or is it jealously? Hmmm......regardless, "Why ya gotta be so Mean?" (Love you Taylor!-your fans got your back!!!) ; )

So sick of Taylor Swift being shoved down our throats..The girl and I mean girl can't carry a tune in a bucket so not sure who is voting or nominating her. All she knows what to write about is the boys that dump her and I can see why they do it, and who ever said she is country is plain nuts. She needs to be on the kids shows and out of the country spotlight...Can you tell I think she stinks?...laffin...Oh and all those phony looks she gives when she wins makes me sick....

I do not think that Tayler Swift can carry a tune at all. Her music has all the same beat and she acts like a wimp.I dont know how she could have won anything.

Gee...she didn't sing about Tennessee, trucks or beer, so she ain't country I guess from some of these comments. Can't sing? She's performed to TWO MILLION people live now, was the top tour act in the world in ticket sales in 2011, the most downloaded ever, best selling, has written hit songs since 13 years old, (oh, yeah, a 13-year old writing teenage songs, oh no!) wrote a novel at 12, has generated a quarter billion dollars, devours history, science and religious texts without preaching at people, is a emotional refuge for millions of girls struggling with self-image, and doesn't drink, get high or swear. Shame! Some of you little mean mud people from a stagnant slough who think everthing 'country' has to say Tennessee, trucks and beer are outraged I suppose. I wonder whose name they'll remember fifty years from now...yours?
