When Miranda Lambert was a child, her parents were private investigators who frequently took in abused women. Witnessing the pain those victims endured at the hands of the men who were supposed to love and protect them, the country star was inspired to write songs like 'Gunpowder and Lead,' about getting revenge against an abuser.

Her passion for the fight against domestic violence is what sparked Miranda's outrage at last week's Grammy Awards, which saw two performances from and a win for Chris Brown. It was just three years ago that the pop/R&B star was arrested for physically assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna.

"Chris Brown twice? I don't get it," Miranda tweeted the morning after the Grammys. "He beat on a girl ... Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys."

"Hate all you want becuz I got a grammy now! That's the ultimate f--- off," Chris tweeted that same day. (The tweet has since been removed.) Though it's not clear whether that was in direct response to Miranda, she probably took it as so. "For all who are asking ... I have a Grammy too," she tweeted back.

Miranda continued her tirade on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, posting, "You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything," along with, "Be who u are and stand for what you believe in. NO MATTER WHAT!"

On Thursday, the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year further shared her fury with a live audience, bashing Chris on stage during her show at the University of Massachusetts. Before launching into 'Gunpowder and Lead,' she held up a neon green poster that said, "Take notes Chris Brown."

"I've been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately," Miranda told her audience (quote via the New York Daily News). "But see, I just have to speak my mind because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never OK ... So that's why my daddy taught me early on in life how to use a shotgun."

Chris' response to this news from Massachusetts was filled with sarcasm: "Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out!" he tweeted, followed by his only direct mention of Miranda: "Go buy @miranda_lambert album! So motivational and 'PERFECT'!"

Chris then thanked his fans, along with another jab at Miranda and her supporters, posting, "Goodnight to all the people who live life and who aren't stuck in the past!"

The Virginia native is still on supervised probation for assaulting Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards, but the restraining order against him has been lifted. He has completed domestic violence and anger management classes but still has community service and two more years of probation to fulfill.

In a surprising twist, Chris and Rihanna have released two new songs together. On her 24th birthday Monday (Feb. 20), Rihanna released a remix of 'Birthday Cake,' featuring a verse from her ex-boyfriend. That very same day, Chris released a remix of his 'Turn Up the Music,' featuring Rihanna. The two are undoubtedly friends again, with some speculating they are also romantically linked once again.

Nicole Brown Simpson gave many chances to O.J............where'd that get her?? I liked Rihanna, thought she was a nice girl. When 'he' assaulted and nearly killed her by choking her-I despise 'him' altogether. However, when I started hearing one too many times that 'they're' friendly again- I know the type .....'she' didn't learn anything. Whatever happens in the future, she made this choice; now, I couldn't care less for her or him. If she doesn't care about herself why should anybody else.

Is there no way for anyone to be redeemed? I don't condone what Chris Brown did, but I have been done wrong a time or two in my life. The person apologized and repented, never to do it again. So all was forgiven...and we are still friends. Now unless Chris B does this again....then Miranda can say "told you so". But until then...give him the benefit of the doubt that he learned his lesson. He's had girlfriends after Rhianna and there's no cases of the same crime...so Hello..get over it. Maybe Miranda's Dad should have taught her "To err is Human, but to Forgive is Divine". Maybe that makes Rhianna BETTER THAN MIRANDA!! ..........
~BTW~ If she plans on shooting the man who puts their hands on her...I hope she will be ready to do the time. Will she ask for "forgiveness" for killing?

Your experience is very rare. Most people who beat their loved ones rarely keep their promise to never beat again. The overwhelming percentage go right back to beating then appologize then beat. Its a disgusting cycle.
BTW if you shoot someone thats beating you your not doing any time. Its called self defense. I know if someone was beating me the way Brown beat Rhianna I would have certainly shot them. Only a rapist is worse than a piece of **** that thinks its great to beat a woman. He also bit her fingers and ear. What kind of sick little bitch bites?

I will not read the comments on this page but I will say Chris you have apologized over and over and you have did what the courts have told you to do. Now you continue to grow and do the right thing. As for this Miranda person you need to let it go. He paid for his crime. What would you prefer he do drop dead? So there is no fixing a wrong as far as you are concerned? I used to fight, bite and do all kind of crazy things to my boyfriends just because I know they would not hit me. We were not there and have no idea what happened to make all this go down. You act as if he has beat up a women every month since this incident with Reanna. Hold on to those stones Miranda because I can see that you have never done anything wrong.

Dont act like you dont know who Miranda Lambert is. She has just as many Grammys as Brown does. Brown is far more infamous than famous. Far more people know Brown for his attact on Rhianna than his singing. He attacked her like an animal would, actually biting her hands and ear along with punching her as hard as he could. He then told her he was really going to beat the **** out of her when they got home. He then said he was going to kill her. Yea thats someone that deserves forgiveness after only 3 years. The only reason Rhinna was not hurt worse is because Brown punches like a bitch.

Im pretty sure Miranda has not beat someone half to death and threaten to kill them. Brown is a filthy animal.

Chris Brown definitely has some growing up to do but how does responding to his violence with more violence make Miranda right? I have enjoyed her and some of her music but all the talk about kerosene and shotguns is no answer to moral outrage. Two wrongs don't make a right.

She is singing metaphorically. Unlike brown she uses metaphores when Brown is "singing" about baning women and his cars and money and houses there are no metaphores in his music. I personally dont think hes all that. He can dance but the singing is really bad.

The problem with women like Rhianna is they always return to their abusers. It is as unexplainable as it gets to those of us that would never tolerate an abuser. In my career in Law Enforcement, I have seen victims of abuse return to the abusers at least 100 times. Give it up Miranda. If Rhianna doesn't care, let it go. It is not worth the effort. And as anyone can plainly see, Chris Brown apparently doesn't care about his actions. He is the epitomy of a zero class fool.

Rhianna is as dumb as Brown. She clearly has low esteem. When she goes back to him shes letting him know it was just fine to beat the **** out of her the last time. There will be more beatings I have no doubt of that. Brown is too much of an animal to know any better.
