Carrie Underwood, 'Good Girl' -- Sneak Peek (VIDEO)

Schmidt Relations

Shhhh, don't tell Carrie Underwood's record label, but the country superstar is leaking her own new single! Well, at least a taste of it. The blond beauty shares with fans this home video (below) shot in a Nashville recording studio on what was her last day of working on her upcoming fourth studio album. The project doesn't have an official title yet, but we do know that the first single is called 'Good Girl.' And watching this video, we now know that the new tune is uptempo, sassy and bound to be a monster hit.

Carrie co-wrote 'Good Girl,' which she describes as "kick butt," with her 'Don't Forget to Remember Me' and 'All-American Girl' collaborators Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley. "Chris DeStefano -- I call him a little mad scientist on all of his Pro Tools stuff -- he plays every instrument you could possibly think of, and he started making this track," she recalls. "We wrote it fast, and it's just fun! It's upbeat, you stomp your feet and you can dance to it. It's got this really rockin' verse, and this really rockin' country chorus."

'Good Girl' will be released to radio this Thursday (Feb. 23). Catch a few lines of the song in the video player below.

"I am so excited to finally have new music," Carrie says. "I was lucky enough to have an amazing tour from my last album, and it feels like it's been forever, but I really had a blast writing the songs, making the music, taking my time, because I wanted it to be perfect, and I feel like we're there. So, it's very exciting for me to have new stuff to sing."

Some of the new stuff, Carrie reveals, will have a darker storyline. The full album hits stores May 1.

Love Carrie, we need to see more great country come out of American Idol! Would love to hear her collaborate with Casey James, he was robbed of season 9! Been really into "Drive" lately

I can't handle her screaming and thats all she does. All she has done since Jesus Take the Wheel is scream and scream. None of her music is remotely country either. Her music is horrible and she has had too much work done to her face. She is starting to really look like one of Hugh Hefner's playmates. Shes very artificial looking and acting. Its ashame, I thought she was going to act like a role model and not dress up like a hooker and sing actual songs that were good for children and not crap about bashing men and not knowing her last name after getting drunk in Vegas. I am not wild about Taylor Swift's music but atleast she acts like a lady and doesn't sing songs that are horrible for young kids to hear. I hope Faith and Shania come back soon. Their music was great. It was loved by all people of all ages and ethnicities. They have quality music unlike what is being played nowadays by these girls who should just go over and be POP stars because the music they are making isn't country or good.

I will not honor you be saying anything negative about another artist but I will bet that all the other artists would just LOVE to be able to --as you stated----scream and stay in tune and sound as AMAZING as Carrie does. Like her or not--she is THE VOICE and will be around for a very long time. I think it is immature and childish and rude to post the comments you posted. Sounds like you need an attitude adjustment.

That's country?? Sorry but all of Carrie's recent stuff since her first album has NOT been country more pop and IA stuff. She needs to give up the electric dance music and back to be country. If you are going to put out that stuff then put it out in the right genre. It makes me pissed how this crap gets played and took over in radio, tv, awards ect when it's not really country but the TRUE country artist like Wynonna, Reba's new stuff doesn't get the play and chance it should.

And Wynonna sings rock also. There goes your reasoning out the window. Reflect back a few years and take a good look at Conway Twitty, Elvis, Mickey Gilley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins--and the list goes on---were all singing pop/rock/etc..

It sounds like every other song she has put out. She just screams. Reba, Martina, Shania and Faith are the best country female vocalists out there. Carrie and Taylor don't even compare to those great ladies!

Carrie is a great artist that is way past her AI days along with being hot, sexy & beautiful from head to toe. She has real talent unlike Madonna who should have disappeared after her debut album.

To add to my previous comment. I admire Carrie for staying true to her country roots. She REFUSES to remix her songs for other genres. If they cross over fine--if they do not fine---I do not like it when artists remix songs to make more money. That is a cop out ,. In my opinion it is like slapping the country music industry in the face and saying I am not really happy here. Carrie is THE FACE of country music and she represents it very well and sometimes I do not feel the country industry recognizes and gives Carrie the credit she deserves. In any interview with Carrie --she talks about how much she loves country music--and I believe this girl tells it like it is.
